Welcome to the Town of Heart’s Delight - Islington! We are located approximately one and a half hour drive from St. John’s and thirty minute to Carbonear.

A beautiful coastal community on the shores of Trinity Bay, our Town Logo is "Together We Grow" and boy have we grown! In the past five years approximately forty new homes have been built in our Town. Several older homes have been sold and renovated and are now occupied. We encourage everyone to become involved in our community, meet your neighbours, have your voice heard and participate in events that affect you and your family.

Water and sewer service is provided to the town. Water is provided by a modern water filtration system. Other services include; streetlights, snow clearing and weekly garbage collection. A new Town Plan has been adopted. We can now move on a Go Forward Basis and bring our town up to another level.

We are protected by a very active Volunteer Fire Department and Community Ambulance Service on a 24/7 basis. We also provide a Recreation Committee, 50 Plus Club, and a Municipal Library. Our business amenities consist of a gas station, convenience store, pharmacy, beauty parlors, garages and postal service. Eastern Health Services operates a Community Clinic Service from the Town Hall building.

We have several walking trails such as Witch Hazel Hill, Western Point, etc., that are points of interest for those who use it. We have a Marina that is second to none in size and quality of service and a Harbour Authority that maintains two fishing wharves.

Church Services are provided on a weekly basis by the Anglican and United Church denominations.

The elementary school is located in nearby Greens Harbour and the high school in Blaketown.

For further information pertaining to the town and our services, please feel free to contact myself or any Councillor.
