It serves as a tribute to our ancestors who settled and created this town with their blood, sweat and tears. It is incumbent on us to make no less a contribution to maintain it's rich heritage, culture and beauty. We have so many things to be proud of and worth protecting. I do believe this could not have happened without that volunteer spirit; let's ensure we keep this spirit alive and well for generations to come. "Together we grow," and still growing.

Comment: I have been to Newfoundland once, including Heart's Delight. My Mom (Elva Legge Mincz) was from Heart's Delight. Her father was Captain Joe Legge and his second wife was Sarah Whalen Legge. I always love getting any info on my family that I can. My cousins in other parts of Canada and some in the States are planning a Whalen family reunion in Newfoundland in 2020. Hope to visit then!
